(More customer reviews)Just a little bit of background: I am Eurasian with strong yellow undertones and very oily skin. Whatever facial ailments are out there, I suffer from it. Be it large pores, acne, blotchy skin... you name it, I have it. Because of this, I am not one of those annoying people who can run around with little to no foundation. I can't even use minerals, it just does not provide me the coverage that I need! And while I love make up and experimenting with different brands, what I don't like is having to seek out a good foundation. Finding the perfect foundation that matches your skin tone, provides the coverage you need, and gives one a comfortable, flawless finish is a difficult task! And after years and years of bouncing from Cover Girl to Revlon to every otherdiscount store brand, I finally bit the bullet and splurged on Estee Lauder's Double Wear.
My only regret is not having done it years earlier. Not only did I find a color that perfectly matches my skin tone, but it truly lasts all day long. It gives me the semi matte look that I love, and when in combination with the Double Wear concealer it is damn near flawless.
For being a maximum coverage foundation it is quite light, and a little goes a long way. A bottle of Double Wear lasts me a good six months. I can't really say how smoothly it goes on, since the primer I use (Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel, 1.5-Ounce Containers (Pack of 3)) makes just about everything go on silky smooth and helps keep my foundation fresh looking throughout the day.
But what matters most with this product: IT WORKS. It does EXACTLY what it promises to do, which is all day, stay in place coverage. The woman at the Estee Lauder counter tells me it is good for 12 hours (but I swear it seems like mine lasts longer).
So in all, if you have a fairly good complexion and don't need much to cover the trouble spots I wouldn't say this is the product you would want... but if you are like me and need the heavy artillery to go out for the day, then I would strongly recommend this foundation.
