For those among us who have not yet found the right make-up, a 5 dollar sampler is worth it.
Now, the product itself... apparently youngblood is one of the more popular of many many new faces on the mineral make-up market. I was not disappointed by the colors or the coverage. If applied properly (and it might take some practice!) minerals can be a great thing.
However after a little research online, I found one thing that might make a difference for some gals.Many mineral makeups have an ingredient called bismuth oxychloride--it is a biproduct of lead refining, and it's a cost-cutting filler in makeup that makes it seem luminous. Because of it's structure it has to forced into the pores (the buffing technique!). For some gals, this might not be a problem. But for others it can actually break you out if your body's chemistry rejects it. This can be a real blow to those who are looking for mineral makeup to solve their congested skin issues.
So, I requested samples (very reasonably priced) from a little shop in Hilton Head, SC called aromaleigh. They do not include this ingredient. Their website www.aromaleigh.com goes into more detail about all this.And their samples are the cheapest I have seen. They have a range of colors that goes beyond warm/cool/neutral. They also included free samples of other things, too!
I have seen other sites including www.beautyblisscosmetics.com, etc. that sell minerals w/o bismuth. Just do some research for yourself, you owe it to your skin--especially you sensitive ones:) And mineral make-up samples from anybody last for a long time--definitely over a week...

Youngblood Pressed Mineral Foundation Review

(More customer reviews)This powder was referred by a cosmetic surgeon to help cover scars after plastic surgery.It is not a heavy product at all, it is light as a feather and lasts almost all day.I don't use the sponge that comes with the powder but a brush which lays the powder in the lightest of layers.

(More customer reviews)And I've tried many over the last few years, including Jane Iredale (pressed and loose powder), Bare Minerals, Sheer Cover, AfterGlow, and PUR. While the other products are decent (PUR was the only exception. I didn't care for it at all), Youngblood's powder foundation is a standout in all categories...it's silky, applies easily, the colors are fantastic and varied, coverage lasts and lasts, and it doesn't get cakey if applied correctly - even with reapplication.

Finding a match was a breeze, as they offer low-cost samples - - an excellent way to experiment with different shades without breaking the bank. Packages arrive quickly, too.

I have developed a special way with loose powder foundations to make them last twice as long, reduce that masky look you can get when reapplying product, control shine, and most importantly, customize the exact level of coverage and color I put on my face: I mix with about an equal amount of good face powder such as CornSilk (my all-time fave - bar none), then split up the now-doubled product into 2 containers...one for home, andone to take in my purse for touch ups.

The 1:1 ratio works great with my particular oily skin, but can be customize for anyone simply by adjusting the ratios. Just keep in mind, all powder foundations perform their best when skin has been properly exfoliated, moisturized, and all moisturizers have sunk in completely so skin isn't wet when you start to apply the powder.

One more suggestion: DO NOT use a cheap brush, like that uncomfortable, scratchy thing Sheer Cover sends out. The product won't blend as nicely, either. The absolute best brush I've found: Jane Iredale's The Handy. Indispensable, luxurious, and worth every cent!

Youngblood Mineral Rice Setting Powder Review

(More customer reviews)I have used the rice setting powder for two years. I have oily skin and it sops up all the oil.I am somewhat young though i reccomend to test it on your skin and play with it because if you are not careful it can put on cakey, so i reccomend if you do buy it buy a kabuki brush to help it be put on even.
Over all i reccomend this product.
